Sometimes I’m listening to the radio and I hear the most hurting love lyrics.

You know the kind of heartbroken, kill me now kind of songs?

The ones where the artist is just pouring out their heart but in a real hurting way emotionally?

Or how about the ones where the woman is sexually just putting herself out there?

Hurting.

While listening to female vocalists pour their heart out, I think to myself, I hope women don’t sing this song to their boyfriend, husband, ex, or whomever is the target of their broken heart. Even thinking about them while listening to the hurting love songs is bad enough.

I’ve decided to make a list hurting of hurting love songs to never sing to a man.

I actually really like some of these songs but that doesn’t mean I would ever sing or utter the lyrics of these hurting love songs to a guy.

If you come up with anymore, please do send me a quick message with the song name and artist name and I will add it to the list.

*Some of these songs contain coarse language

*Each song is linked to a You Tube video of the song with lyrics…

Enjoy the music

common causes of divorce

The divorce rate in America is approximately fifty percent. I find that to be quite high. This post is not about why this rate is so high but instead on the most common causes of divorce.

Why do people split?

1. Cheating

The pain of knowing their partner cheated leaves anyone devastated and once the trust is broken, it is hard to regain.Working on a relationship after infidelity is difficult for most people and how could you ever really trust that it wouldn’t happen again?

2. Lack of Sex Life

Whatever the reason for a lack of sex in a marriage, if the sex is not happening, that’s a big problem. If anything, in a marriage you need to work on keeping the sex life in check so spicing it up is a must. No sex life, means no marriage.

3. Money Problems

Money is also a major issue. It could be that one partner overspends on items that the other partner disapproves of or it could just be a lack of money altogether. Maybe one partner is not working and the other partner feels the pressure of providing a good income.

4. Abuse

The abuse that a partner suffers could be emotional, physical or could even involve abuse of substances such as alcohol and drugs.

While some partners work things out by seeking professional help, often times the abuser is in denial and the only option is to leave the marriage to save yourself.

5. Different Expectations About Having or Raising Children

Sometimes one partner is set in their way and doesn’t want kids while the other one does. One partner may also be infertile. Other issues could revolve around how to raise a child. For example, one person might spoil their child and the other one is set against it.

There are many other reasons, but in my opinion, these five seem to be the most common causes of divorce.

I also think that instead of working on making the marriage work and dealing with the problems constructively to make things better, couples give up too easily. Perhaps it is because the laws of divorce has made the process much easier. Yes, it could be much easier to throw your hands up in the air and just get a divorce. But to have any marriage last, if the love is there and you want your marriage to work, you need to work in partnership to make things last.

What are your thoughts?

Marriage can be a beautiful thing but there are just some things that are just nice to do before you get hitched. Enjoy your ‘single-hood’ (I don’t think this word exists but it just sounds good..lol) while it lasts.

Here is a list of some things to do before you get married:

1.Travel

A few years ago I took a 30 day tour across Western Europe. It was absolutely awesome! I couldn’t have done it if I was married with children. I would have to most likely wait until after retirement. I know you may not be able to take such a long and mind you – expensive vacation, but even a few fun vacations will suffice.

That’s me in Paris, France

2. Shopping

Go on a shopping spree or indulge in one expensive item of your choice. You know, that item that if you were married, you probably had to talk to your other half about. Hey, you work hard for your money..so without making it a habit, go ahead and buy that something knowing you might not always have the luxury to do so once you’re married.

I myself, love to go to Brazil to buy most of my clothes. I go once every year or two years and go prepared for a shopping spree. I don’t go to the malls much here in Toronto since I save and wait until I’m in Brazil to buy most of my clothes. They are somewhat less expensive and very likely nobody in Toronto is wearing what I’m wearing ;–) That’s me in the picture below after a day of shopping in Brazil.

3. Learn to Cook 3 Great Meals Like a Pro

Cooking can actually be fun if you can prepare a few delicious meals. Pick 3 meals you love, learn to make them, and always have the ingredients on hand. You can impress yourself, your boyfriend, and your guests. While everyone thinks you are such a great cook, all it took was mastering three recipes…hehehehe

4. Finish Up Schooling

Don’t stress yourself with trying to arrange a wedding and finishing school. If you can wait just a little longer, finish up that course first. You need full attention and good health to pull those good grades and feel care-free once you are done!

5. Dating

If you don’t have a steady boyfriend yet, don’t sweat it! Here’s your chance to meet and date lots of men before committing to one and then realizing he’s not the one. I’m not saying have’ sex’ with lots of men and if you’ve read my previous posts you know I would not advise such a thing. What I mean is DATE..have fun getting to know different men, take your time, and figure out what kind of person you really want to be with anyhow. No expectations. Some guys can actually just turn out to be good friends.

6. Keep a Savings Fund

Yes, I did say it was okay to splurge and buy something you love but that doesn’t mean you should spend everything you earn. If you are working, try to save little bit of each paycheck. It might be easier to open a separate bank account and have the funds transferred each pay. Set a specific amount…even $50 and put it away. Saving a little each paycheck is great to do before you get married. Once you are married, you may find yourself with some hefty bills to pay so having a savings fund can help with the extras expenses.

7. Get the cat or dog out of your bed!

I don’t own a pet myself, but I know you might… and you probably sleep with your pet too, am I right? Well, make sure you kick that habit before you get married. Three is a crowd. Your pet may also become quite jealous if you all of a sudden get married and kick him or her out of bed! Not nice.

Do you have any other things that you think you should do before you get married?

Share them here below as a comment!

Oh, and if you liked this post, please share it with a friend too
